This Barbeque Chicken Recipe is one of my favorites. In fact, it's my fave of all my bbq recipes. This is the one I like to enjoy most with family and friends!!
This is all because of all it's unusual combination of ingredients. There’s a special flavour that happens when this barbeque masterpiece is finished - right Chef?!
And it's so quick and super easy to do, too. That means, it gives me - and you - more time to be inventive with things like salads and sides. And it also gives me more time to spend with my friends and family (and my Chef).
And isn't that what barbecues are really all about?!
4-6 chicken thighs, boned
1-2 cloves garlic
1 tsp. table finely chopped ginger
2 tsp. table fresh coriander (cilantro)
1 tsp. table of lemon juice
1/4 cup of soy sauce
1/3 cup of “Hoisin” sauce (available at grocery stores specializing in Asian products)
Wash the chicken thighs thoroughly. Dry with paper towels.
Peel the garlic and chop it very finely.
Wash the ginger well and chop finely too.
Mix together the cilantro, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, soy and "Hoisin" sauce.
This sauce is one of the special ingredients that makes this recipe magical. If you can't find “Hoisin” sauce, you can substitute another sauce that you like with chicken, but you’ll be missing out on something unique!!
Coat the chicken thighs with the mixture and marinate in the fridge for several hours for the best results.
Grill on the barbecue for 5-7 minutes on both sides.
Of course, you wouldn’t just serve these chicken thighs be themselves!
For some starter ideas, you can turn this dish into a memorable treat by adding some light vegetable greens. Another great idea is to serve them with potato salad on the side! This is always a favourite in the summertime.
Bon appétit!
