Plain and simple: my chicken burger is great!
It’s fun.
It’s easy to make.
And it just tastes Great!
When I make burger recipes this, it’s like I’m taking a holiday from cooking! Hey l love to cook, but when I make something that’s as delicious as this, cooking is almost as much pleasure as eating it.
Now you know why this chicken burger recipe is my favorite.
And now: it’s your turn to find out!
1 lb. of ground chicken
1-2. green onions
2 cloves garlic
1 cup cheddar cheese
3 mushrooms
2 shredded carrots
¼ cup mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste
Wash and chopped the green onions. Separate the white and green parts.
In a small bowl combine the ground chicken, the green parts of the onion and the mayonnaise. Add some of the cheese, leaving about ¼ cup left over for later.
Mix everything really well. Set aside.
Wash the carrots. Grate them into a bowl.
Wash and dry the mushrooms. Chop into finely thin slices.
Peel and chop the garlic.
Over medium heat in a pan, saute only the white part of the green onions, the mushrooms, and grated carrots. Continue for 5 - 7 minutes. In the final minutes add the chopped garlic to the saute. This keeps the garlic from burning to a dull charcoal-ly brown.
In the bowl with the chicken, cheese and onions, combine the just-sauteed mushrooms, garlic and carrots.
Mix well. To this add a bit of salt and pepper to taste.
Now wet your hands. This will make it easy to shape the burgers into nice round shapes.
Shape the mixture into 6 patties.
Place a pan on medium heat with just a little oil added. When it’s hot enough add each of the chicken patties. Since the patties have mayo in it - which also has oil - this is why we use just a little bit of oil.
Continue grilling burgers over medium heat for about 10 - 15 minutes, turning only once.
During the last several minutes of cooking, spoon the remaining cheese on top of each burger. Cook until the cheese is melted.
The patties should be a golden brown color and juicy inside. Press down gently but firmly while you’re cooking to check the color of the juices to do this. The juices should be clear.
OK are you ready?!
I know I am!
These burgers can be served as a side dish or - my favorite way - on a bun. And my favorite fillings are this:
On the bottom bun add mayonnaise...
...lettuce, tomatoes...
and cucumber. Maybe some pepper if you like.
Add the chicken burger.
Maybe some more lettuce and close the burger with the top bun.
Now....its time to eat!!
