This chicken wing recipe is incredibly quick and incredibly simple!
And ladies: the men in your life will really enjoy this! Especially if you enjoy waiting on them hand and foot!!......
OK! Now that I have your attention, I can get serious! This is a recipe where you can let yourself be very creative. But I have to give you fair warning:
After you read these instructions and see how fantastically simple, and fabulously easy this recipe is, I promise you this:
You will get the munchies!
- and -
You will get the need to make another batch!
Can you wait?!!
1 kg of chicken wings
4 tablespoons of butter
100 ml of honey
spices (see directions below)
bread crumbs
(optional)
100 g of nuts
kitchen knife & chopping board
measuring spoons & measuring cups
saute pan (skillet)
cooking spoon
large bowl for marinating
baking pan
kitchen brush
Preheat oven to 350°C/660°F.
Wash the chicken wings thoroughly. Dry with paper towels. You always have to do this!
In a pan over medium to high heat, melt the butter with the honey. (You can also do what I did and substitute olive oil for honey to give a totally different flavor!)
Bring this to a bubbly boil. Leave it that way for just 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Now for the creative part!.....
Add all the spices! Here’s a list with suggestions to get you started:
Blend these (and whatever else you choose) carefully to get just the right flavour.
Some other spices you can add are onion powder. If you prefer something spicy, then you can add some hot spices like red pepper. If you prefer it a little less hot, then you can add something gentle like rosemary!
Can you see how fun this is going to be?! :)
Once you have just your perfect blend of spices, mix these in with the honey and butter sauce.
For extra, extra flavor I like to marinate the wings for short time - around 15 to 30 minutes.
Next, grease a baking pan lightly with cooking oil. Sprinkle with some bread crumbs if you like.
Dip each wing put into the spiced honey sauce and place on the baking pan!
...Or....
You can just place the wings on the baking pan and brush the sauce thoroughly over each wing like I do in the pic below - your choice!
Chop the nuts into small pieces. Sprinkle over the wings!
Bake for about 15 - 20 minutes. Of course, it’s good to check from time to time to keep everything from burning!
This chicken wing recipe is a great finger food. Especially when you have friends around and a little wine!
When your guy starts watching hockey or soccer, you can serve this with beer!!! Of course I'm joking ladies - he can get his own beer! In fact, keep the wings for yourself and let him make his own. It is an easy recipe after all!!!
I’m getting hungry now!! And you?
I gave you fair warning!!
